Day 11: Tue, Oct 25 -- Abu Simbel and The Nubian Village

Synopsis

We got up very early to catch a bus to Abu Simbel, a huge rock temple that was dug out of a large rock hill. The size and power of the temple was simply amazing, perhaps the most amazing of the temples we visited. After the bus ride back, we had some free time during which we visited the peaceful and bird-filled Aswan botanical gardens, which was situated on the far bank of the Nile. That evening we took a short boat ride up the Nile to a Nubian village where we were served a local, traditional dinner.
